They searched the spaces between the glamour, the fortune and the broken promises. They found that beneath its dazzling surface L.A. is as real and raw as any major metropolis on earth. Skate spots abound in the side-streets and empty school yards of this glitzy place in the sun.

from Sean Slobodan
Inspired by the photography of my good friend Weston Colton (westoncolton.com @westoncolton), and featuring local skaters from the Salt Lake and Utah Valleys, this film was only made possible with the help of countless friends and the support of a beautiful wife.
Michael has a dream : to leave his small town in Nevada and go to Los Angeles, a skater’s paradise. Although refused entry to a skateboarding contest in LA, he sets out on his own journey with his skateboard as sole partner.

Charley Ford Forever
from Kevin Strick
“Charley Ford Forever” is a passion project from cinematographer Nate Klein and video editor Kevin Strick. For those not close to the skateboarding community, Charley Ford, aka CJ, was a skater from South Central LA that was the unfortunate victim of a homicide on October 21st, 2012. CJ was on his way to making a name for himself within the skateboarding industry, having racked up a healthy list of sponsors, a ‘Mag Minute’ spotlight on The Skateboard Mag’s website, and filming with established videographers such as Nigel Alexander. Charley had an energy, charisma, and raw talent to him that magnetized people who, in turn, wanted to be around him and see him ‘make it’ in skateboarding.
Three Hours Back
“Three Hours Back” is a video project made with the skating of Matias in three hours of filming in the lunch hour of two saturdays working in the skateshop.
Music by Wilco, “Solitude”, included in “Wilco (The Album)”.
