A natural habitat is defined as the environment in which an organism thrives. For the TURN & BURN crew that environment is the Whistler and Pemberton backcountry. Wiley, Burns, Trevan and Beau take full advantage of ideal conditions in their own backyard.
Stussy by Holden Outerwear
Stussy by Holden was created with the purpose of offering the perfect selection of items on a one week road trip from the peaks of the Northwest to the sandy shores of Southern California. With that goal, Stussy and Holden have team up to offer five items functional enough to keep you warm and dry, yet flexible enough to provide layering options that go from snow to surf.
Broken Mechanism: A short film featuring Bode Merrill
from Snowboard Magazine
“His fear mechanism is broken.”
Bode Merrill is an unstoppable force in modern snowboarding. Over his career, he has proven that fear is a secondary consideration to progression, that having a vision of the seemingly impossible can become reality. “Broken Mechanism” is a look back at what Bode has accomplished on a snowboard and leaves us only with our imaginations for what he has in store for the future.

Volkl Snowboards team riders have been travelling all over the Alps last season, check out the best of montage featuring Mario Kaeppeli, Aline Bock, Chris Kröll, Peter Walchhofer, Stani San and Marc Grossgasteiger somewhere in the best backcountry spots of the European Alps! thanks for the edit, Bálint Hambalkó Cinematographer
With clear skies and fresh snow forecast for the Alps, the Vans Family spotted a prime opportunity for a few days of shred between filming, competitions and industry meets. As home to the Vans Penken Park as well as Vans’ own Wolle Nyvelt, Austria’s Mayrhofen was the destination of choice.
An international crew including Jamie Lynn, Darrell Mathes, Hana Beaman and Zac Marben joined the Euro team, consisting of Arthur Longo, Markus Keller, Cheryl Maas, Will Smith, Kalle Ohlson and Aimee Fuller. Conditions were good and with Wolle as their guide, it was an unforgettable trip.
Check out their antics – hunting down secret powder stashes, hitting the Vans Penken Park and even a session on Äsmo Pow Surfers – in this little edit from the Vans Family.
“My father was a very active man. He took us to sea and mountains to have fun and that has influenced me a lot. My grandfather was a craftsman. He would return from hunting with birds or fish, and he’d teach us how to skin and eat it.” –Taro Tamai
Through Gentem Stick, Taro Tamai is making an impact on the snowboard world by harking back to the roots of snowboarding, which lie in surfing. There’s an emphasis on hiking in the backcountry, understanding the terrain and thinking about what it means to be engaged with the mountains.

ANTTI AUTTI FULL PART 2015
¨ We are all products of our environment. In Finland it means that snowboarding in the mountains is almost as rare as catching waves in baltic sea. Not too many people do it. When I was growing up all I wanted to do was to learn new tricks but when I began to ride backcountry, I needed to start think differently about my snowboarding. Suddenly it was not only about take off, airtime & landing. Riding in the mountains opened my eyes to what having flow in your riding really means. You can challenge yourself in so many ways while riding steeps mixed with airtime. But what really makes natural terrain riding the best is the fact that you have to live in the moment & be aware of everything that surrounds you.¨ -Antti
