Alaska is the land of opportunity for the humble skier or snowboarder. Spine lines as far as the eye can see, and massive airs make almost every turn a come to god moment.
In our first episode of Behind the Line season 2, we go behind the scenes with Athlete Callum Petit. Callum steps it up, hitting a cliff Ian McIntosh wouldn’t even touch. The foreseen consequences terribly come true, with a proverbial “hole-in-one” crevasse shot.

Sheffield Ski Village closed in April 2012. We took two skiers and one boarder back to the charred remains of the dry ski slope where they learned to ski. The ski village was a key piece in the journey of some of the UK’s best freestyle skiers to the top of their sport, including James Woods, James Machon, Ellie Koyander and Katie Summerhayes, all of whom are now Team GB athletes.
Our aim is to drum-up support for the Sheffield Ski Village in the city known as the sporting capital of the United Kingdom.

Heavy sun and low snow has left Valle Nevado ski area reduced to bare rock, a lost season. Lifts shut down and skiers flee towards Santiago in droves. Hot tubs and pisco prevail for the DPS crew. But one morning they awake to find condors filling the sky–scavenging to prepare for an oncoming storm. While the resort hunkers down and weathers the whiteout, they disappear into clouds that boil with a meter of snow. The desert becomes an ethereal sanctuary, dissolving into the sky.
