Success requires more than just what happens under the bright lights and the watchful eyes of the judges. The hours leading up to showtime can be critical in getting an athletes’ headspace where it needs to be. Take a peak into the world of Canadian freeskier Alex Beaulieu-Marchand as he prepares to compete at Dew Tour. Shot, edited and directed by Stept Productions
I was hanging at Mt Baker with Justin a few weeks ago to shoot some sweet slush backcountry spots around the resorts closing time, we had some down days and some up days but we couldn’t resist taking one sunny day off shooting to go for a last shred on the resort and shoot this […]
The Middle/Path Project Episode One – “You Can’t Always Get What you Want…”
from Sean Fithian
“Every winter we enter the season with high hopes of amazing snow fall. Some years, all we can hold onto is the hope of next weeks forecast bringing the weather we are dreaming of. In the PNW last winter, resorts seemed to be about 1,000 vertical feet too low. With only the mountain tops getting snow and the rest of the hills being drenched with rainfall, the season didn’t amount into much. The important question we must all ask ourselves is, are humans having an effect on the worlds climate and if so, then how much?
ANTTI AUTTI FULL PART 2015
¨ We are all products of our environment. In Finland it means that snowboarding in the mountains is almost as rare as catching waves in baltic sea. Not too many people do it. When I was growing up all I wanted to do was to learn new tricks but when I began to ride backcountry, I needed to start think differently about my snowboarding. Suddenly it was not only about take off, airtime & landing. Riding in the mountains opened my eyes to what having flow in your riding really means. You can challenge yourself in so many ways while riding steeps mixed with airtime. But what really makes natural terrain riding the best is the fact that you have to live in the moment & be aware of everything that surrounds you.¨ -Antti

From the depth of the creative visuals to the groundbreaking, never-been-done-before scale of the shoot, Afterglow is being hailed as one of the most cinematically profound ski movies ever made. Deep pillows and Alaskan spines, all filmed at night, with massive lights, custom made LED suits, and a national governments worth of logistics, planning, and civil engineering.
